Keyser, W.Va. — Potomac State banged out 27 hits enroute to a doubleheader sweep over Cecil College at Golden Park on Monday afternoon.  The Catamounts wrapped up the regular season with a 32-12 season with the 14-7 and 12-2 wins.

In the opener, Potomac State struck early, manufacturing a four-run first inning.  John Mallow was hit by a pitch with two outs.  Jaxon Drennen, Peyton Blue and Dylan Rice each drew a walk to force in the first run, Braden Sloan then followed with a two-run single.  A wild pitch brought home another, quickly building a 4–0 advantage.

The Catamounts kept the line moving in the second.  Jaxon Drennen drove in a run with a single, and Peyton Blue added a sacrifice fly, extending the lead to 6–0.

Cecil mounted its strongest response in the third inning. Matt Jackson's RBI single started the rally, Jevin Seifert delivered a two-run triple, and Andrew Baldini grounded out to bring in another, pulling Cecil within 6–4.

Potomac State answered in the third inning.  Logan Rotruck led off the inning with a single, he then stole second and then scored when Lex Wescott tripled to make it 7–4.

In the fifth, Ryan Conrad led off with a double, Seth Healy then reached safely on an infield hit.  Tate Musko then singled home two runs.  After a pair of walks, Blue was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score another run.  Rice next lifted a sacrifice fly — making the score 11–4.

Cecil scratched across two runs in the sixth, aided by walks and an error.

In the sixth, Musko and Wescott singled before Mallow launched a three-run home run to right, pushing the margin to 14–6.

Cecil added a final run in the seventh on an RBI from Christian Kleckner.

Wescott paced the offense with three hits and three runs, while Mallow's home run punctuated a three-RBI performance in a lineup that produced 14 runs on 13 hits.

In game two Potomac State wasted little time getting the lead. In the bottom of the first, the Catamounts strung together base hits from Brayden Harris, Wescott and a walk from Mallow.  Callen Miller then opened the scoring with a two-run single, plating Harris and Wescott.  Ryan Conrad then delivered the decisive early blow — a towering three-run homer that cleared the bases and gave Potomac State a 5–0 lead.

Cecil answered briefly in the third, capitalizing on a pair of extra-base hits. Jevin Seifert doubled home a run, and Tim Ramirez followed with another RBI double to trim the deficit to 5–2.

In the fourth, Potomac State resumed its offensive surge. Conrad continued his standout performance with an RBI single, and Dylan Rice added a two-run knock to stretch the lead to 8–2.

In the fifth, Sloan led off with a single, Harris doubled and then Wescott lined an RBI single, John Mallow reached on an error that plated another, A.J. Spears then added a run-scoring hit, and a wild pitch capped a four-run inning that sealed the 12–2 run-rule victory.

Conrad finished as the offensive centerpiece with four RBIs, while Potomac State's pitching staff — led early by Hunter Krotzer — kept Cecil's lineup contained after the brief third-inning push.

Potomac State will now travel to Bel Air, MD for the Region 20 tournament that begins on Friday.
