NJCAA Region 20 Tournament Preview

Harford Sports Complex – Bel Air, MD | May 1–3, 2026

The NJCAA Division 1 Region 20 Baseball once again runs through Bel Air, MD where a powerhouse meets two dangerous challengers in a compact, double-elimination style showdown.

 #1 Harford Community College (49–5)

Harford enters as one of the top junior college teams in the country, boasting a staggering 49–5 record and an undefeated mark in conference play. Their identity is simple: overwhelm opponents with offense and suffocate them with pitching depth.

Key Contributors

  • Ty Mercado (.446, 10 HR, 59 RBI)
  • Danny Scullion (.444, 13 HR, 53 RBI)
  • Jack Fitzpatrick (.418, 19 HR, 61 RBI)
  • Jeremy Reyes (.436, 68 hits)
  • Kyle Tuthill (10–0, 3.60 ERA)
  • Ben Christine (7–1, 3.79 ERA)

Harford's .408 team average and 91 home runs highlight an offense that rarely has a quiet inning. Their pitching staff complements it with a 4.68 ERA and multiple undefeated starters.

#2 WVU Potomac State College (32–12)

Potomac State combines a deep lineup with a gritty pitching staff, capable of matching firepower with anyone in the bracket. Their .339 team average and 53 home runs show offensive versatility.

Key Contributors

Potomac State's strength lies in lineup depth—multiple hitters above .350—and the ability to string together big innings.

 #3 Monroe University (19–26)

Monroe enters with a losing record, but don't let that fool you—this team has offensive pieces that can change a game quickly. Their .317 team average and aggressive baserunning (89 steals) make them unpredictable.

Key Contributors

  • Jesus Nieves (.415, 22 SB)
  • Nair Jamanika (.389, 4 HR, 34 RBI)
  • Franklin Francisico (.345, 32 RBI)
  • Juan Garcia (.393, 4 HR)
  • Ricardo Feliz (4–3, 4.60 ERA)
  • Alan Tejada Henriquez (4–2)

Pitching (8.98 ERA) is a concern, but Monroe can manufacture runs and apply pressure offensively.
