Potomac State Wraps Up 2026 Track & Field Season at WVU Last Chance Meet

Morgantown, W.Va. - The WVU Potomac State College Athletics track & field team wrapped up its 2026 campaign on May 9 at the WVU Last Chance Meet, marking the conclusion of the program's first season competing at the NJCAA level.

The Catamounts turned in several top-three finishes across both track and field events during the season finale, highlighted by runner-up performances from Avah Shrout in the women's 100-meter hurdles, LJ Sealy in the men's 800 meters, and a pair of tied second-place finishes from Alek Detrick and Tanner Detrick in the men's pole vault.

Nasir Cheatham led the field event performances for Potomac State with third-place finishes in both the men's high jump and men's long jump, while Baylee Jarrett added a third-place showing in the women's 400-meter hurdles. The distance crew also closed the year with strong performances as Phoebe McCann and Cassidy Cumberledge both placed inside the top four in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase.
