Westmoreland, Pa. - Potomac State Cross Country turned in a record-setting performance at the NJCAA Region 20 Championship, capturing both the men's and women's titles for the first time in program history. The sweep marks the first time any school has won both championships in the same year in Region 20 and also stands as the first-ever NJCAA Division II Men's Regional Championship in Potomac State history. For the women, the victory secured their fourth consecutive regional title, continuing a dominant legacy.
Men's Championship – First in Program History
The Potomac State men not only made history by winning their first-ever NJCAA Division II Region 20 Championship, but they did it in dramatic fashion.
At the halfway point of the race, the Catamounts trailed Carroll Community College by four points, sitting outside the lead. However, a determined surge over the final miles—led by a tightly packed scoring group—powered Potomac State to a nine-point victory, finishing with 38 points to Carroll's 47.
Freshman LJ Sealey was the top finisher for the Catamounts, placing third overall in 28:45.00. His late-race push sparked the team's momentum and was followed by strong finishes across the lineup:

Potomac State outpaced second-place Carroll Community College (47 points) and CCBC Catonsville (65 points) to secure the team victory.
Women's Championship – Four Straight Titles
The Potomac State women captured their fourth consecutive NJCAA Region 20 Championship, dominating the field with 18 team points and placing all five scorers inside the top 15.
Cassidy Cumberledge led the charge, winning the individual regional title with a time of 20:19.50.

Both teams now advance to the NJCAA National Championships in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The DII NJCAA Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, November 8th, 2025.
