LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Thirty-seven student-athletes from 18 programs were named 2025 NFCA National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II All-Americans.
2025 NFCA NJCAA DII All-Americans
The Catamounts had two individuals named second team Division II All-American; Braylee Corbin and Skyla Compton.
Braylee Corbin, a sophomore from Petersburg, WV, was the starting catcher for the Catamounts. Her impact for the Catamounts was felt both behind the plate defensively as well as an offensively with the bat in her hands. Corbin recorded 238 putouts on 253 total chances. At the plate she held an incredible 1.020 slugging percentage and finished the season with a .479 batting average and .513 on base percentage. She recorded 73 RBIs on 67 hits, including 12 doubles, 3 triples and 21 home runs. She also scored 57 runs and only had 6 strikeouts all season. One of her top moments offensively was her solo walk-off home run to push her team to the Region 20 and Mid-Atlantic District Championship.
Nationally in NJCAA Division II, she was 9th in the nation for her slugging percentage and 12th for home runs.
Skyla Compton, a freshman from Bunker Hill, WV, played the majoring of the season in right field. She recorded 48 put outs on 59 attempts and held a .983 fielding percentage. At the plate she scored 47 runs in 41 games, logging 61 hits including 12 doubles and 12 home runs. She also was able to earn 23 stolen bases this season. Defensively, Compton highlighted her ability in the Region 20 Championship, gunning down a runner advancing from 2nd to 3rd from her right field position. She is ranked 14th in the nation for batting average and 17th in the nation for slugging percentage.
NFCA All-Region and All-America athletes must be nominated by their NFCA-member head coach, are voted for by the coaches in their region or division, and ultimately selected by elected NJCAA Division II All-American committee members to receive this prestigious accolade.
