Keyser, W.Va. - Potomac State Softball delivered a dominant all-around performance at home, sweeping CCBC Catonsville in a 2025 NJCAA Region 20 Championship rematch.
Game 1: WVU Potomac State 10, CCBC Catonsville 0 (5 innings)
The Catamounts set the tone early and never looked back, powered by a milestone performance from Delaney Randolph, who tossed the first no-hitter of her collegiate career in a commanding 10-0 run-rule victory.
Randolph was in complete control from the opening pitch, holding CCBC Catonsville hitless across five innings while allowing just three walks and striking out one. She faced 19 batters and consistently induced weak contact to preserve the no-hit effort, improving to 8-0 on the season.
Offensively, Potomac State wasted no time backing their ace. Adison Pritts sparked the early surge with a three-run home run in the first inning, giving the Catamounts a lead they would only continue to build. Pritts finished with a game-high five RBIs, adding a double later in the contest to cap off a standout performance.
Randolph also contributed at the plate with two hits and an RBI, while Olivia Julian drove in a pair and Alaira Harrington added an RBI of her own. The Catamounts used aggressive baserunning to apply pressure throughout, highlighted by multiple stolen bases and a steal of home during a five-run fourth inning that sealed the run-rule victory.
Game 2: WVU Potomac State 8, CCBC Catonsville 1
Potomac State carried its momentum into game two, erupting for five runs in the second inning to take control and secure the sweep with an 8-1 win.
After falling behind early, the Catamounts responded in a big way. Carlee Haines delivered the decisive swing with a three-run home run to put Potomac State on the board, igniting a five-run frame. Moments later, Skyla Compton added an RBI single that helped stretch the lead.
The offense continued to produce in the third inning, with Alaira Harrington collecting one of her two RBIs on the day, while Alyssa Abel drove in a run as the Catamounts capitalized on defensive miscues.
In the circle, Lacie Miller earned the win with a strong five-inning outing, allowing just one run while striking out four. Randolph returned in relief to close the door, tossing two scoreless innings to secure the victory.
Harrington led the offense with two hits and two RBIs, while Haines finished with three RBIs and Compton added a pair of hits in a balanced team effort.
Potomac State showcased its depth in all facets with dominant pitching, explosive offense, and aggressive baserunning, highlighted by Randolph's historic no-hitter in game one. The Catamounts continue to build momentum as they will host a doubleheader versus Mount Aloysius College on Thursday, March 26th, 2025 at 3pm and 5pm.
