Keyser, WV — In front of a packed and electric crowd at the Lough Gymnasium, WVU Potomac State College Volleyball delivered a thrilling comeback victory over Allegany College of Maryland, winning in four sets (18-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-14) in the latest installment of the Battle of 220.
After dropping the opening set, the Catamounts regrouped and dominated the remainder of the match, showcasing resilience, teamwork, and high-energy play. The atmosphere was electric, with fans fueling the team's momentum throughout the night.
Setter Victoria Lester played a pivotal role in the win, not only orchestrating the offense with 44 assists, but also contributing 2 kills of her own. Her leadership and court vision were instrumental in turning the tide after the first set.
Offensively, Elliana Mosby led the charge with 14 kills and an impressive .379 hitting percentage, while Sarah Iman added 13 kills and 8 digs. Ashton Spiker and Christianna Sledge also made key contributions, combining for 12 kills and 26 digs.
Defensively, the Catamounts were relentless, racking up 66 digs and 10 block assists, stifling Allegany's attack and keeping rallies alive.
With the win, WVU Potomac State improves its record and continues to build momentum heading into the heart of the season. Next up is a Tri-Match at home on Saturday, September 13th, 2025 against Chesapeake College at 12 pm and Howard Community College at 4pm.
