Keyser, W.Va. — WVU Potomac State Volleyball came up short in a competitive four-set match against Butler County Community College (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon, falling 3–1 inside Lough Gymnasium as part of the 2025 Homecoming tri-match.
After dropping the first two sets 25–15, 25–15, the Catamounts found their rhythm in the third, earning a 25–23 win behind improved offensive execution and steady serving. However, Butler County responded quickly in the fourth to close out the match 25–10.Sophomore Sarah Iman led the Catamount attack with nine kills and four service aces, while Christianna Sledge and Alyssa Abel added eight and five kills respectively. Setter Victoria Lester tallied 28 assists on the day, helping the offense generate momentum during the third-set push.
Defensively, Delaney Randolph anchored the back row with a team-high 12 digs, and Daija Wright added seven in support. At the net, Abel and Elliana Mosby combined for three total blocks to help slow Butler's attack. The loss moves Potomac State to 7–3 overall on the season. The Catamounts will look to regroup as they continue their Saturday Tri-Match against Anne Arundel Community College.
