Keyser, W.Va. — WVU Potomac State Volleyball delivered a strong home performance on Sophomore Recognition Day, defeating Cecil College 3–1 (25–23, 21–25, 25–23, 25–12) on Saturday afternoon inside Lough Gymnasium. The Catamounts opened the day with energy, taking a competitive first set before the Seahawks rallied to even the match at one set apiece. Potomac State regained control in the third with timely attacking and strong defensive coverage, then closed out the match convincingly in the fourth set with their most dominant stretch of the afternoon.
Sophomore Elliana Mosby led the Catamounts offensively with 14 kills, adding three solo blocks and five block assists to power the front line. Sarah Iman followed with 13 kills and a service ace, while Christianna Sledge contributed eight kills and a team-high seven aces from the service line.
Setter Victoria Lester directed the offense with 37 assists and six digs, surpassing the 1,000 career assist milestone during the match! Ashton Spiker and Delaney Randolph anchored the back row with key defensive efforts, helping the Catamounts control momentum throughout the afternoon. As a team, Potomac State totaled 12 service aces and used strong blocking to limit Cecil's offensive rhythm.
Prior to the match, the Catamounts recognized their sophomore class for their contributions to the program and dedication on and off the court. With the victory, WVU Potomac State improves to 10–3 overall.
