Keyser, W.Va. — WVU Potomac State Volleyball wrapped up its Sophomore Day Tri-Match on Saturday afternoon with a competitive four-set battle against Hagerstown Community College, falling 3–1 (24–26, 25–22, 22–25, 19–25) inside Lough Gymnasium.
Coming off a strong win earlier in the day against Cecil College, the Catamounts carried that momentum into the opening set, pushing Hagerstown to the limit before narrowly dropping a tight 26–24 decision. Potomac State responded in the second with disciplined attacking and strong serving to even the match, but Hagerstown regained control in the third and closed the contest with a late fourth-set surge.
Sarah Iman paced the Catamount offense with 16 kills and a service ace, while Elliana Mosby added 15 kills and contributed at the net defensively. Christianna Sledge tallied 10 kills and three aces, and Ashton Spiker chipped in seven kills and three aces while anchoring the back row with 12 digs. Victoria Lester continued to run the offense efficiently, dishing out 45 assists and adding 11 digs on the afternoon. Delaney Randolph provided stability defensively, recording a team-high 17 digs and two aces.
The Catamounts totaled 11 service aces as a team and showed strong stretches of play throughout the match, particularly in transition and at the net. With the result, WVU Potomac State moves to 10–5 on the season.
