Catamounts Cruise at Home Behind Young’s Strong All-Around Night

November 12, 2025

Keyser, W.Va. - Potomac State Men's Basketball continued its early-season momentum on Wednesday night, delivering a convincing 94–74 win over Baltimore City Community College to move to 5-1 on the year. From start to finish, the Catamounts controlled the pace, shared the basketball, and delivered one of their most complete performances of the young season.

The story of the night was Joell Young, who once again showcased his all-around impact. Young finished with 12 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds, coming just three boards shy of a triple-double. He dictated the offense, consistently set up teammates, and energized the Catamount attack with his decision-making and composure.

Potomac State came out firing in the first half, putting up 46 points while holding Baltimore City to 28. Balanced scoring led the way, with five Catamounts finishing in double figures—highlighted by Peter Quaye (16 points), Colby Margenau (14), Jordan Taylor (13), and RJ Greene (14 off the bench). The Catamounts dominated the glass with a 38–20 rebounding advantage, turning defensive stops into quick-strike opportunities.

But the moment that brought the Lough Gym crowd to its feet came with just under a minute left. Freshman forward David Rushing punctuated the victory with a posterizing dunk over a Baltimore City defender, putting the exclamation point on a night defined by effort, intensity, and togetherness. Rushing finished with 6 points and 5 rebounds, but his late-game slam will be the highlight replayed all week.

Potomac State now shifts its focus to the road, where the Catamounts will travel to Garrett College on Tuesday, November 18th, 2025.
