Grubb’s Goal Highlights Second Half Surge for Potomac State

October 10, 2025

Bel Air, Md. — WVU Potomac State College men's soccer dropped a 4–1 decision on the road Friday evening to Harford Community College.

The Fighting Owls struck early with a trio of first-half goals, taking a 3–0 lead into the break. Potomac State showed renewed energy after halftime, pressing higher and creating more chances in the attacking third. The breakthrough came in the 76th minute when Brady Grubb buried an unassisted goal to bring the Catamounts within striking distance at 3–1.

Despite the late push, Harford answered with a goal in the 85th minute to secure the 4–1 final. Goalkeeper Justin Leclerc made seven saves in the effort, keeping Potomac State within reach through sustained pressure from the Harford attack. The Catamounts tallied seven total shots, including three on goal, led by Grubb, Mateo Miranda, and Jonas Balele, who each contributed to the offensive effort.

With the result, Potomac State moves to 6-3-1 overall and 6-2-1 in region play. The Catamounts will look to bounce back next week as they return home to Keyser to celebrate Sophomore Night as they take on Frederick Community College at 5pm.
