Potomac State Earns First Win of the Season with Dominant Victory Over Allegany

Cumberland, Md. — Potomac State Women's Basketball picked up its first win of the 2025–26 season in convincing fashion, defeating Allegany College of Maryland 73–42 on Saturday afternoon. The Catamounts used a strong defensive performance and balanced scoring attack to pull away after a tightly contested first quarter.

After an even 8–8 opening frame, Potomac State found its rhythm in the second quarter, outscoring Allegany 22–7 to take a 15-point halftime lead. The Catamounts continued to roll in the second half, shooting 45.8% from the field and holding Allegany to just 26.7% overall.

Sophomore Mya Glisan led the way with 20 points on an efficient 7-for-11 shooting performance, while Miya Harris added 12 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Ericka Zirk and Larkin Walker each scored 10 points, with Zirk adding six rebounds and Walker contributing four boards. Freshman Bailey Evans provided a spark off the bench with six points and eight rebounds, helping the Catamounts control the glass with a 35–27 rebounding advantage.

The win marks the first of the season for Potomac State, now 1–1 overall, as they will host Baltimore City Community College on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 7pm.
