Miya Harris Scores 31 as Catamounts Open Season Against SUNY Niagara

November 7, 2025

Cumberland, Md. — Potomac State Women's Basketball opened its 2025–26 season on Friday evening at the Allegany Tip-Off Classic, falling 100–65 to a sharp-shooting SUNY Niagara squad. Despite the loss, the Catamounts showed resilience and improvement throughout the game, especially in the second half where they posted 45 combined points over the final two quarters.

After a slow start that saw Potomac State trail 55–20 at halftime, the Catamounts found their rhythm offensively, matching Niagara's pace in the third quarter and continuing to battle through the final buzzer.

Sophomore guard Miya Harris led the way with a career night, scoring 31 points while grabbing 10 rebounds for a double-double. Mya Glisan added 12 points and seven rebounds, while Larkin Walker contributed seven points and eight boards. Potomac State dominated the glass overall, pulling down 60 rebounds, including 28 on the offensive end, to stay active in second-chance opportunities.

SUNY Niagara shot 52.7% from the field and hit 13 three-pointers to pull away early, but the Catamounts showed promising signs on both ends as several newcomers made key contributions in their collegiate debuts.

Potomac State (0–1) will look to rebound quickly when they return to action on Saturday against host Allegany College of Maryland.
