Frederick, Md. - Potomac State Women's Basketball hit the road Wednesday night for a matchup at Frederick Community College, ultimately coming up short in a hard-fought 57–48 contest.
The Catamounts came out strong defensively, holding Frederick to just seven points in the opening quarter while grabbing a 13–7 lead. The second quarter, however, proved to be the turning point as Potomac State struggled to find rhythm offensively, posting only four points as Frederick surged ahead at halftime.
The Catamounts responded in the third with their best offensive stretch of the night, outscoring Frederick 18–10 to reclaim momentum heading into the fourth. Despite the push, Frederick finished the game on a strong run, converting at the free-throw line and capitalizing on late possessions to seal the result.
Miya Harris and Mya Glisan led the way with 13 points each. Harris added five rebounds and went 5-of-6 at the line, while Glisan was efficient inside, finishing 6-for-13 from the field with seven rebounds. Ericka Zirk provided a steady presence in the paint, scoring 12 points and knocking down six free throws. Larkin Walker contributed six points and seven boards, and Brylee Wetzel anchored the glass with a team-high nine rebounds.
Potomac State won the rebounding battle 40–34 and held Frederick to just 25% shooting from the field, but 21 turnovers and a 25–to–14 difference in free-throw makes ultimately tilted the game toward the home side.
