Allegheny County, Pa. — The WVU Potomac State College women's basketball team put together a strong second-half performance to earn a 57–46 road victory over the Community College of Allegheny County on Saturday afternoon. After a slow start offensively, the Catamounts found their rhythm coming out of halftime, outscoring CCAC 39–17 over the final two quarters to pull away and secure the win.
Potomac State trailed 29–18 at the break but responded immediately in the third quarter with an aggressive defensive effort and improved ball movement. The Catamounts poured in 21 points in the period while holding CCAC to just 10, swinging the momentum and taking a slim lead heading into the final quarter. The fourth quarter belonged to Potomac State, as the Catamounts continued to control the paint and the glass, extending the lead with timely stops and efficient scoring down the stretch.
Sophomore Mya Glisan led all scorers with a game-high 25 points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc while adding seven rebounds and three steals. Miya Harris contributed 11 points, five assists, and three steals, while Ericka Zirk anchored the interior with a double-double of 12 rebounds and three blocks. Off the bench, Shymira Jones provided a spark with eight points and five rebounds. Defensively, Potomac State forced 19 CCAC turnovers and limited the home team to just 20.3 percent shooting from the field, a key factor in the comeback effort. The Catamounts also won the rebounding battle 36–26 and recorded six blocks as a team.
With the win, Potomac State continues to build momentum as conference play progresses. The Catamounts will look to carry that energy forward as they prepare for their next contest on Wednesday, January 21st, 2026 at 5:30pm on the road against Hagerstown Community College.
