Wye Mills, MD - Potomac State Women's Basketball earned a hard-fought 73–67 road victory over Chesapeake College on Friday evening, using a balanced offensive effort and a dominant performance on the glass to secure the win. After a slow start that saw Chesapeake take a 17–12 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Catamounts responded with a strong second period. Potomac State outscored the Skipjacks 21–11 in the quarter, holding Chesapeake to just four made field goals to take a 33–28 advantage into halftime.
The Catamounts continued to build momentum coming out of the break, winning the third quarter 18–9. Potomac State's defensive pressure limited Chesapeake to 3-of-14 shooting in the frame, while efficient interior scoring helped stretch the lead to double digits. Chesapeake made a late push in the fourth quarter, pouring in 30 points and trimming the margin to single digits, but Potomac State remained composed at the free-throw line down the stretch to seal the road win.
Mya Glisan led the way for the Catamounts with a game-high 24 points on an efficient 9-of-10 shooting, while Ericka Zirk recorded a dominant double-double with 21 points and 17 rebounds. Miya Harris added 12 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, contributing on both ends of the floor. Potomac State finished the game shooting 54.0 percent from the field and won the rebounding battle 45–25, including 10 offensive boards that led to key second-chance opportunities.
With the win, the Catamounts continue to build momentum as they move forward into the next stretch of conference play.
