Catamounts Clamp Down in Road Win at Montgomery

Rockville, Md. - Potomac State Women's Basketball earned a 56–48 road victory over Montgomery College (MD) on Monday evening, improving to 13–3 overall and 6–2 in conference play. The Catamounts set the tone early, holding Montgomery to eight points in the opening quarter while building a 13–8 lead. Potomac State continued to lean on its defense throughout the night, forcing tough shots and limiting Montgomery to 25.8 percent shooting from the field. Montgomery responded in the second quarter, outscoring the Catamounts 14–10 to narrow the deficit to 23–22 at halftime. The third quarter proved pivotal, as Potomac State regained momentum with a 16–13 edge behind timely scoring and defensive stops. Potomac State closed the game with a strong fourth quarter, outscoring Montgomery 17–13 to seal the eight-point road win.

The Catamounts made key plays down the stretch and converted at the free-throw line to keep the Raptors at bay. Mya Glisan led all scorers with 21 points, adding seven assists and four steals in a complete performance. Miya Harris followed with 19 points, going 9-of-14 from the free-throw line, while Ericka Zirk contributed eight points and four blocks anchoring the interior defense. Potomac State finished the game with 10 steals and seven blocks, using its defensive pressure to overcome a physical Montgomery squad.

The Catamounts continue conference play as they host Harford Community College on Friday, February 6th, 2026 at 7pm.
