Catamounts Rise in Road Test, Power Past Harford

Bel Air, Md. — The WVU Potomac State College women's basketball team delivered a poised road performance Monday evening, knocking off Harford Community College, 76-68, inside APGFCU Arena. With the win, the Catamounts improve to 18-4 overall and 9-2 in conference play. Facing one of the region's top teams on its home floor, Potomac State set the tone early with a 21-point first quarter. After trailing 37-34 at halftime, the Catamounts responded with a composed second half, outscoring Harford 42-31 over the final 20 minutes; including a 24-point fourth quarter that sealed the victory.

Miya Harris orchestrated the offense with one of her strongest all-around performances of the season, pouring in 26 points on 8-of-15 shooting, including three three-pointers, while adding eight assists and five rebounds. Harris also went 7-of-9 from the free-throw line to help close the game in the final minutes. Ericka Zirk dominated the glass with a 17-point, 14-rebound double-double, collecting six offensive boards and protecting the rim with three blocks. Mya Glisan added 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals in a versatile effort, while Brylee Wetzel contributed six points and six rebounds in key minutes.

The Catamounts shot an efficient 48.3 percent from the field and matched Harford on the boards with 39 rebounds apiece. Potomac State also recorded 17 assists and seven blocks, anchoring a defensive effort that held Harford to just 30.6 percent shooting from the floor. With composure down the stretch and balanced production across the lineup, the Catamounts secured a critical road win and continue to build momentum as postseason play approaches.
