Balanced Attack Secures Season Sweep of Garrett for Potomac State

Keyser, W.Va. — The WVU Potomac State College women's basketball team completed the season sweep of Garrett College on Saturday afternoon, earning a 66-61 victory at home to move to 19-5 on the year. After defeating the Lakers on the road earlier this season, the Catamounts made it 2-0 in the series by using a strong second half, including a 21-point third quarter and 17 points in the fourth, to secure the win.

Mya Glisan led the offensive charge with 18 points on an efficient 8-of-14 shooting, adding four rebounds, five assists, and two steals in a well-rounded performance. Ericka Zirk followed with 12 points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots, while Larkin Walker added 11 points and seven boards to anchor the interior. Miya Harris filled the stat sheet with 10 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists, narrowly missing a triple-double while also recording two blocked shots and a steal. Her playmaking helped the Catamounts total 17 assists as a team. Shymira Jones provided a spark off the bench, scoring eight points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting performance and grabbing three rebounds. Brylee Wetzel chipped in five points and five rebounds, while Riley Pollack added two points and two steals in key minutes.

Potomac State shot 43.3 percent from the field and held a 39-31 advantage on the glass, including 13 offensive rebounds that led to second-chance opportunities. Defensively, the Catamounts tallied seven steals and four blocks to help slow Garrett's attack in the closing minutes. With the win, Potomac State secures the season sweep over Garrett and will look ahead as they finish regular season play on the road on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026 at 5pm against CC of Beaver County (PA).
