Catamounts Roll Past Catonsville to Advance to Region 20 Semifinals

Keyser, W. Va. - The WVU Potomac State College women's basketball team delivered a dominant performance Tuesday night, defeating CCBC Catonsville 85–55 in the NJCAA Region 20 Quarterfinals at the friendly confines of Lough Gymnaisum to advance to the semifinal round. Potomac State set the tone early and never looked back, using balanced scoring and a commanding presence on the glass to control the contest. The Catamounts led 21–17 after the first quarter and extended the margin to 37–32 at halftime before breaking the game open in the second half. The Catamounts erupted for 24 points in both the third and fourth quarters while tightening defensively, holding Catonsville to just 23 total points over the final two periods. Potomac State's defensive pressure limited Catonsville to 25 percent shooting from the field while the Catamounts controlled the rebounding battle 52–37.

Mya Glisan led all scorers with a standout performance, pouring in 29 points on 11-of-19 shooting while knocking down four three-pointers and grabbing 10 rebounds to record a double-double. Ericka Zirk also posted a double-double with 18 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, adding three steals while going 8-of-11 from the free throw line. Larkin Walker chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds, while Miya Harris orchestrated the offense with 10 points and a game-high 10 assists. The Catamounts showcased strong ball movement throughout the game, finishing with 20 assists on 29 made field goals while also collecting 19 offensive rebounds to generate additional scoring opportunities.

With the victory, Potomac State improves to 21–5 on the season and advances to the NJCAA Region 20 Semifinals. The Catamounts will the Community College of Beaver County (PA) on Friday, March 6 at 12 p.m. at Skipjack Arena in Wye Mills, Maryland.
