Keyser, W.Va. — Potomac State Men's Basketball opened the 2025–26 season in commanding fashion on Monday night, rolling to a 113–52 victory over Blue Chips Prep inside the Lough Gymnasium. The win marks a strong start for the Catamounts in their home and season debut.
Potomac State controlled the game from the opening tip, building a 46–25 halftime lead before erupting for 67 points in the second half. The Catamounts showcased balanced scoring and unselfish play, with six players scoring in double figures and the team shooting 49.4% from the field.
Jordan Taylor led the way with 16 points, while Joell Young added 17 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Rodney Vilsaint chipped in 15 points, and Cam Young provided an efficient spark off the bench with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting. Peter Quaye anchored the interior with eight points, eight rebounds, and two blocks, helping Potomac State control the paint on both ends.
The Catamounts finished with 19 assists, 47 rebounds, and limited themselves to just nine turnovers in a complete team performance.
With the victory, Potomac State begins the season 1-0 and looks to carry this momentum into the early season stretch as they continue to build under first year Head Coach Brady Folk.
The Catamounts return to action later this week as they host Pennsylvania Highlands Community College on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025 at 7pm in Lough Gym.
