Cumberland, Md. — Potomac State Men's Basketball continued its strong start to the 2025–26 season, earning an 85–79 victory over SUNY Niagara on Friday evening at Allegany College of Maryland. The win pushes the Catamounts to 3–0 on the year.
In a competitive matchup from start to finish, Potomac State held a 41–34 lead at the half and maintained their advantage behind balanced scoring and strong rebounding efforts. Sophomore guard Colby Margenau led the way with 22 points, knocking down four three-pointers and going 6-for-8 from the free-throw line. Rodney Vilsaint posted another standout performance with a 17-point, 12-rebound double-double, while Jordan Taylor added 12 points and 10 rebounds to record a double-double of his own.
As a team, the Catamounts shot 42.9% from the field and outrebounded Niagara 44–40, with five players contributing at least seven points. Potomac State's defensive pressure also played a key role, forcing 21 turnovers and collecting 11 steals.
