Keyser, W.Va. — Potomac State Men's Basketball mounted a determined second-half comeback on Monday evening, but the rally ultimately came up just shy as the Catamounts fell 95–92 to visiting Allegany College of Maryland inside Lough Gym. After trailing 53–39 at halftime, the Catamounts refused to fold. Potomac State stormed out of the break with energy on both ends, outscoring Allegany 53–42 in the second half and repeatedly chipping the deficit down to a single possession in the closing minutes. The crowd roared as the Catamounts clawed back, but the final buzzer arrived before the comeback could be completed.
RJ Greene powered the second-half surge with 20 points, knocking down four threes and sparking several key runs. Colby Margenau delivered a strong all-around performance with 21 points and six rebounds, while Rodney Vilsaint added 12 points and five boards. Joell Young continued his playmaking consistency, finishing with six assists and six rebounds. Potomac State's bench also provided valuable sparks, highlighted by Antonio Pollard's eight points and Rodney Carter's strong minutes around the rim.
Despite shooting struggles early, the Catamounts turned the game around through defensive pressure, winning the turnover battle and holding Allegany to just 42 second-half points. The grit, effort, and execution out of the locker room showcased the group's resilience. The loss moves Potomac State to 7–4 overall and 1–2 in Region 20 play, but the team's unwavering response after halftime underscored a competitive identity that continues to grow.
The Catamounts return to action later this week as they host Howard Community College on Wednesday, December 10th, 2025 at 7pm inside Lough Gym.
