January 10, 2026

Allegheny County, Pa. — The WVU Potomac State College men's basketball team showcased resilience and composure on Saturday night, erasing a 13-point deficit and outscoring the Community College of Allegheny County 18–9 in overtime to secure an 89–80 road victory. Potomac State trailed 46–33 at halftime after a challenging opening half but responded with renewed energy on both ends of the floor. The Catamounts outscored CCAC 38–25 in the second half, forcing overtime before pulling away in the extra period.

The comeback was fueled by consistent pressure defensively and an aggressive approach attacking the basket, as Potomac State lived at the free-throw line throughout the game. The Catamounts converted 33-of-42 attempts from the stripe, including several key makes down the stretch and in overtime.

Peter Quaye led all scorers with a dominant 28-point performance, shooting efficiently from the field and knocking down four three-pointers. RJ Greene added 17 points, including a perfect 9-for-9 effort from the free-throw line, while Rodney Vilsaint chipped in 10 points and six rebounds. In the paint, Jordan Taylor recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds, helping Potomac State control the glass during crucial stretches. Off the bench, Rodney Carter provided a spark with eight points and seven rebounds, including clutch free throws in overtime.

Potomac State's defense tightened when it mattered most, holding CCAC to just nine points in overtime while forcing key turnovers and limiting second-chance opportunities. The Catamounts also won the rebounding battle 46–36, a pivotal factor in completing the comeback.

With the overtime victory, Potomac State adds another hard-fought road win to its résumé as conference play continues on Monday, January 12th, 2026 as they travel to play Penn Highlands CC at 6pm.
