Potomac State Rolls Past Davis & Elkins JV for First Home Win of 2026

Keyser, W.Va. – Potomac State put together a dominant offensive performance Tuesday night, defeating Davis & Elkins JV 113–81 at home to secure the Catamounts' first home victory of the 2026 calendar year. Potomac State set the tone early, building a 54–44 lead at halftime before erupting for 59 second-half points to pull away and cruise to the convincing win. The Catamounts shot over 53 percent from the floor and nearly 49 percent from three-point range, showcasing balanced scoring and unselfish ball movement throughout the night.

The Catamounts were led by Rodney Vilsaint, who turned in a standout performance with a 30-point, 10-rebound double-double, adding five assists while shooting an efficient 12-of-15 from the field. Jordan Taylor also recorded a double-double, finishing with 11 points and 12 rebounds while providing a strong presence on both ends of the floor. Peter Quaye added 25 points on an impressive 9-of-10 shooting, including a perfect 6-for-6 from beyond the arc, while Jayden Motley chipped in 12 points off the bench. Potomac State received contributions up and down the lineup, with nine Catamounts scoring in the contest.

Defensively, Potomac State forced nine turnovers and controlled the glass with a 52–37 rebounding advantage, helping fuel transition opportunities and second-chance points that widened the gap in the second half. The victory moves the Catamounts to 13–4 on the season as they prepare to travel for the second game of a back-to-back against Hagerstown Community College on January 21, 2026, at 7:30 p.m.
