La Plata, Md. — The Potomac State College Catamounts built a double-digit halftime lead Tuesday night, but a strong second-half surge from College of Southern Maryland resulted in an 89-82 setback at the CSM Gymnasium. Potomac State (17-6) controlled the opening 20 minutes, taking a 44-33 advantage into the break after shooting nearly 40 percent from the field and knocking down six first-half three-pointers. The Catamounts executed offensively and limited opportunities on the other end to dictate the tempo early.

Colby Margenau matched him with 13 points, connecting on two three-pointers and adding four rebounds. Rodney Vilsaint contributed 11 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks in a well-rounded performance.
Potomac State finished with 11 made three-pointers and held a 36-34 rebounding edge, including 11 offensive boards. However, Southern Maryland's 56-point second half proved decisive. The home team capitalized at the free-throw line, converting 23-of-28 attempts, and shot 46.7 percent from the field overall.
