Keyser, W.Va. — In a matchup between two 19-win programs, the Potomac State College men's basketball team delivered a confident, complete performance Saturday afternoon, defeating No. 24 Prince George's Community College, 100-85, inside Lough Gym. From the opening tip, the Catamounts looked every bit the part of a team in rhythm. Potomac State built a 41-33 halftime advantage behind efficient shooting and balanced scoring, then elevated its play in the second half by pouring in 59 points to put the game firmly in control.
Rodney Vilsaint led the charge with a dominant 24-point effort, shooting 11-of-14 from the field while adding six rebounds. Jordan Taylor was nearly perfect, scoring 15 points on 5-of-5 shooting from the floor and 5-of-7 from the free-throw line to provide a steady interior presence. Colby Margenau delivered across the stat sheet with 17 points, eight rebounds, three steals, and a block, while Peter Quaye added nine points and four assists. Joell Young orchestrated the offense with five assists to go along with seven points and two steals, helping Potomac State tally 18 assists on 35 made field goals. Off the bench, RJ Greene contributed 10 points and three rebounds, and Rodney Carter knocked down three three-pointers to finish with nine points. As a team, the Catamounts shot an impressive 53 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from beyond the arc, knocking down 10 three-pointers. Potomac State also controlled the glass with a 35-32 rebounding edge and generated nine steals in an active defensive effort.
